Blazin' Cranberry Sauce

Cook Time: 30-40 mins Yield 6-8 servings

Ingredients:

  • 12 oz fresh cranberries

  • 1/2 cup orange juice (freshly squeezed if possible)

  • 1/2 cup sugar (or honey for a natural alternative)

  • 1/4 cup water

  • 1-2 tablespoons chopped fresh jalapeño (adjust for spice level)

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger

  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)

  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1/8g RSO (Rick Simpson Oil) (Available in Dispensary)

Instructions:

  1. Cook the Cranberries: In a medium saucepan, combine the cranberries, orange juice, sugar (or honey), and water. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.

  2. Simmer: Reduce the heat to low and let the cranberries simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until they begin to burst and the sauce thickens. Stir occasionally.

  3. Add Spices and Heat: Stir in the chopped jalapeño, cinnamon, ginger, cayenne pepper (if using), and vanilla extract. Let the sauce simmer for an additional 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.

  4. Infuse with RSO: Remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir in the RSO, ensuring it’s evenly mixed into the sauce. Be sure to measure the RSO carefully to control the potency of your dip.

  5. Cool and Serve: Allow the cranberry sauce to cool to room temperature. The sauce will thicken slightly as it cools. Serve as a dip with crackers, bread, or as a topping for grilled meats or cheese.
