RSO Cannabutter

Ingredients:

  • 1 stick of unsalted butter (½ cup)

  • 1 syringe of RSO (1 gram)

  • 1 cup of water (optional, to prevent burning)

Instructions:

  1. Melt the Butter:
    In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Add 1 cup of water to prevent the butter from burning (optional).

  2. Add the RSO:
    Once the butter is fully melted, squeeze the entire syringe of RSO into the saucepan. Stir well to ensure it’s evenly mixed.

  3. Simmer:
    Keep the mixture on low heat for 30–45 minutes, stirring occasionally. Do not let it boil.

  4. Strain (Optional):
    If there are any impurities, strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a heat-safe container.

  5. Cool and Store:
    Let the mixture cool at room temperature, then refrigerate until solid. If water was added, drain off the excess water once the butter solidifies.

How to Calculate THC or CBD Dosage

  1. Check the Label:
    If the THC or CBD percentage is listed, move the decimal one spot to the right to find the milligrams in the product.

  • Example: 70.0% = 700mg in total.

  1. Cannabutter Dosing:
    A stick of butter has 8 tablespoons. Divide the total milligrams by 8 to find the dose per tablespoon.

  • Example: 700mg ÷ 8 = 87.5mg per tablespoon.

  1. Adjust for Lower Doses:

  • Use half the syringe of concentrate or double the butter to lower the dosage to 43.5mg per tablespoon.

  • Adjust based on your recipe and desired strength.

  1. Serving Size Matters:
    The final dose depends on the number of servings in your recipe.

  • Cake Example:

    • 1 stick of butter = 700mg.

    • Recipe makes 12 servings.

    • 700mg ÷ 12 = 58.33mg per slice.

  • Vegetables Example:

    • 1 tablespoon of butter = 87.5mg.

    • Recipe serves 4.

    • 87.5mg ÷ 4 = 21.88mg per serving.
